Rather than packaging its lip care products in plastic containers, as most other brands do, Plenty + Spare Naturals' new eco lip balm products favor the use of simple paperboard tubes.
The giant paper tubes are about three times the size of an average plastic tube, providing about half an ounce of lip product. Varieties from the brand include Calendula, Mint and Rose Orange, which are made with natural, nourishing oils like jojoba and avocado, plus mango seed butter and plant-based waxes, all of which are locally and sustainably sourced. In all, unnatural dyes, fragrances, parabens and palm oil are excluded from the lip balm formulas.
Many consumers are now taking more interest in thoughtfully packaged products to make sure that their empty product containers do not end up occupying space in a landfill.
