Finnish fashion designer Heli Miikkulainen-Gilbert's personal choice when it comes to fur falls neither under the animal skins, nor the synthetic faux furs. Considering she loves the warmth and luxury of furs, she created a new form of eco-friendly fur in the 'Rya' rug coat ('ryijy' in Finnish). The piece shows a classic hand-stitched Scandinavian textile reinterpreted in a modern way, resulting in a more fitted woolen garment. The material is like furs in terms of its performance.
