Purchasing one's own vintage-y marquee light can be an expensive investment (they range in the hundreds on Etsy alone), yet they can cost a fraction of that thanks to the DIY Marquee Light. A relatively easy home project, it allows people to enjoy the playful and illuminating decor without sacrificing that arm and leg.
Conceived by Megan of Happy Looks Good on You, the DIY Marquee Light is made out of a few simple items: chipboard, poster paper, spray paint, light bulbs and cords. The chipboard is cut to take the shape of the ampersand (or whatever symbol a person wants) while the poster paper lines it to give it a three dimensional quality. Once spray painted a particular color, the light bulbs and cords can be installed.
