The task of assembling a DIY light from scratch can be quite daunting considering the electrical components involved, but a new UAU project called 'Self Made Furniture' is making it easier for the average homeowner to feel more like a maker.
The first piece in the collection is called 'SMF.01' and takes the from of a simple standing light. All of the 3D-printed pieces needed to assemble the body of the light are included, while any additional components are available through local hardware stores. In terms of the skill needed for putting the DIY light together, UAU reports that "The assembly is very simple and does not require any skill other than connecting parts together. You won’t have to use glue, nails or other messy products."
As more pieces in the Self Made Furniture collection are developed, they will also be just as simple, inexpensive and accessible in their designs.
