The 'DISPERSEED' is a 3D-printed seed ball designed with reforestation in mind to help a natural environment recover after a devastating forest fire. The seed ball is crafted out of edible dough that birds and small animals will enjoy eating, which is also infused with seeds that will fall to the ground as it's eaten. This will help with the reforestation process while also enabling birds or animals to eat the seeds for propagation across more significant swaths of land.
The 'DISPERSEED' is the design work of Irene Badía Madrigal, Diego Polo García, Carmen Amorós Egea, Claudia Daudén Llodrá, Carmen Benítez Mora, and David Zaragozá Sabater. It is runner up for the 2022 James Dyson Award. The seed ball is crafted with natural materials that will decompose after it has been consumed.
