Marcus Cresswell designed the Discoven, which is a playful and dynamic pizza oven that is made to resemble the look of a disco ball. The functional oven is studded with mirror detailing and is also able to rotate on the base similar to the look of a disco ball. There are over 34,000 small mirror units that are fitted by hand to provide its unique visual aesthetic.
The inside of the oven is made with a stone core complete with a cordierite cooking base so that it is able to reach temperatures of 400°C (752°F). This way, the Discoven can cook a Neopolitan-style pizza within only 90 seconds. Visually, it has a sphere structure resting on a stable base so that it can rotate 360° as the mirror units catch light.
