New York-based designer Marc Thorpe introduced the DayTrip outdoor furniture system for Moroso's 'Moroso M’Afrique' collection. The two have been working together over the past eight years and this is the designer's latest creation for the design studio. The DayTrip is comprised of a variety of elements that can be used as low tabletops or benches. This presents users with the liberty to make use of the composition however they please, giving them the ownership of the furniture piece and the way it is used.
The main concept of the entire furniture piece by Thorpe is the multi-cultural theme that Moroso believes so strongly in. This is translated through the manufacturing process -- the frames are crafted in Dakar, Senegal and the cushions are constructed in Udine, Italy. This blends the contemporary spirit Moroso exudes, with the intricate craftsmanship of Senegal to truly deliver something that embodies a global design.
