Bolivian Busses is a photo series, put together by German photographer Daniel Hofer, that captures the vibrant and colorful airbrushed art that adorns the public buses traveling from the Bolivian capital La Paz into the Amazon Basin.
Daniel Hofer happened to come across the vehicles in Villa Fatima, a small neighborhood from which passengers and products were ferried to and from the jungle by bus. The buses were the only thing that stood out in Villa Fatima, a poor area.
The artwork on the buses depict a variety of famous fictional characters from pop culture as well as real-life personalities. These include WWE stars, biblical figures, cartoon characters and religious and mythological figures.
The photo series carries a mysterious nature due to the fact that the artist who painted the buses hasn't been identified.
