Kelly Wearstler Designs the Dahlia Bar's Blush Interior
Amy Duong — August 18, 2023 — Art & Design
Interior designer Kelly Wearstler is the mind behind the new Dahlia bar located in the Downtown LA Proper hotel. It has an eclectic look that is defined by the clay plaster walls with Moroccan cement tiles. The space is named after the Mexican national flower and has a blush tonal look throughout the space.
The designer explains the concept behind the look, stating "The warm, earthy tones of the lounge are in concert with the larger hotel while striking their own note entirely. Dahlia feels like it has been there for ages. This is the kind of space where you can entirely lose track of time." Visitors are welcomed by a yellow stained glass door and the seating is made from a blend of reddish banquettes and curved armchairs that rest low around circular timber tables.
