Canonic Security, a new cybersecurity startup that recently emerged out of stealth with the intention of offering heightened protections for software as a service (SaaS) applications, has launched AppTotal, a cybersecurity tool that helps companies test and profile third-party apps and add-ons.
The 'AppTotal' cybersecurity tool is effectively a software sandbox that allows companies to access a database of SaaS add-ons including Google Workspace, Salesforce and many other widely used programs. The tool allows cybersecurity engineers to go about investigating the utility and performance of add-ons before they're ready to go ahead and use them in conjunction with their core software applications.
"This brings the familiar experience and tools that support threat analysts and security engineers while investigating network and endpoint threats and artifacts into the emerging landscape of SaaS-native attacks," said Canonic Security's CEO Boris Gorin in a press release.
