Spotify is Letting Users Create Cover Art for Their Playlists
Spotify is encouraging listeners to get creative with its new tool dubbed Create Cover Art -- it is currently in its beta testing process. This adds a new spin to playlists as users can create custom artwork. It is available for free and paid subscribers on all devices. This can be accessed through the three-dot menu on playlists where options available include color selection, effects, stickers, and text stylings.
The tool also allows for photo uploads and users can experiment with various designs. Notably, each playlist can only display one custom cover at a given time. The platform has worked with various artists and visual artists including Imogene Strauss and Cey Adams to highlight the possibilities. Strauss notes, "It takes me back to learning to draw on the computer as a little kid, customizing my blog in middle school. I take a ton of pride in getting my playlists just right, putting a custom cover on them makes it that much more special. Everyone will have a ton of fun with this.”
