London-based designer Brit Leissler has come up with an ice cream cone-like chair design called the Huggy Armchair. A mattress is inserted in a cylindrical wooden base in a cone shape. The result is a comfortable, inviting and cuddly chair.
Leissler believes that design means making products people actually need and use. She focuses on addressing the needs of modern urban life without being boring. She’s managed to accomplish her goal with this design.
A ring in the base of her Huggy holds the mattress together. When it is unscrewed, the mattress automatically unrolls and can be used for sleeping. Turning the base upside down renders it a night table.
