Floralia might not be an actual coral reef vase, that would simply be too irresponsible, but it is safe to say that the design looks like it incorporates the oceanic ecosystem in some shape or form. Whimsical and organic, it was actually created using 3D printing technology. This way, it balances perfect between functionality, mass customization and digital aesthetics.
Designed by Eragatory, the coral reef vase looks like a sculpture. Although there are some semi-automated steps, different variations and colors can be achieved. The coral reef vase is made out of "a gypsum-based powder that’s held together with an adhesive and simultaneously embedded with an ink jet end," according to Design Milk. It brings the magic of the sea into the home.
