Simon Pavy works together with design studio Entreautre to create the Biomimicry 3D-Printed Terracotta Cooler using a custom 3D printer. It is a ceramic structure that is about the same size as a houseplant planter but is defined by its cooling elements.
This features an intricate series of looping vessels that are made with inspiration from coral. This is created through various layers using the 3D printer custom-made by Dutch artist Olivier Van Herpt. It extrudes terracotta with an intricate build. The form increates the surface area where water is able to spread out and evaporate. As a result of this same feature, it allows for cool ambient air to flor through with the help of a fan.
