Dyson's 'Small Ball' is a Compact Vacuum Ideal for Tight Spaces
Laura McQuarrie — January 26, 2016 — Art & Design
The Dyson 'Small Ball' is a new compact vacuum that's designed to have all the power of a full-sized unit, but take up a portion of the space. This upright vacuum has special appeal to people living in apartments, condos and small homes, since it can easily be transported up stairs and tucked away into cleaning closets.
The Small Ball retains many of the features that most full-sized Dyson machines are known for, including powerful dual cyclones to pick up microscopic dust particles and ball technology to permits easy maneuvering without fixed wheels.
In total, this unit weighs in at about 5.5 kg, as compared to an average upright machine that weighs 7 kgs. In addition to being lightweight, the new machine also cuts noise by 30%, includes a 45% longer cable for hard-to-reach spots and includes a tangle-free turbine to prevent hair buildup from inhibiting the machine's cleaning power.
