The colorful architecture of 'Motisons Jewellers' new headquarters gives new life to the brand and Indian streetscape. As a well-established jeweler in Jaipur, Motisons wanted the design for its corporate tower to communicate a similarly strong presence.
The new construction is mindful of cultural significance; it is modeled after India's national flower -- the sacred lotus. The vibrant floral facade has a striking presence in both the day and night. In the dark, the individual petals of the leaf-like facade can be programmed to glow a different color of LED light. The petals also act as a second skin for the building and provide insulation.
To achieve the complex curves of the glass, Kothari Associates used 3D modeling software Revit to digitally design the entire building before a single brick was laid.
