In an effort to reduce waste and collect used water, designer Tae-Jin Kim worked in collaboration with IIDEA to create 'Ponding.' The Ponding is a sink that works to help you reuse some of your water. The eco-friendly basin works by adding a cavity to the bottom of your sink. As water is used, a container placed in the cavity captures some of the excess water.
Nano filters placed above the bucket work to keep the water relatively clean. When the container completely fills up with water, excess liquid begins to flow through a trap at the bottom of the bucket. As a result, Ponding allows you to capture used water without taking the risk of flooding.
