Probably the most innovative light design I have seen that uses cutlery is the Clive Roddy 'Spoon Lamp,' which is a pine cone-shaped light that has been designed and built using 115 dessert spoons. The next time one is asked to prepare the dinner table, it might not be such a drag to do so if the cutlery could be used in more ways than one.
The Clive Roddy 'Spoon Lamp' is not shaped like a pine cone by accident; the look was inspired by large pine cones that were fount in Yosemite National Park, California. The stand upon which the lamp portion rests is made of three long, spindly legs that are almost completely made of solid oak. The contrast of silverware upon wood gives the Spoon Lamp an exquisite appeal and I would not be surprised to find this product lighting up most modern restaurants in the near future.
