New Simcity at High Speed Reveals Insane Detail in City Simulator
Andrew Sztein — January 27, 2013 — Pop Culture
The king of city simulators is coming back this spring, and this particular video shows how much detail is packed into this new SimCity. You’d be forgiven for thinking that you’re just watching a video of a real city in time lapse, but rest assured, this is what the actual game looks like.
SimCity has been around since the 80s, but you’ve never seen it like this. In this video, the game is demonstrated running at cheetah speed, as the camera pans over the user-made city. From the single lights in individual apartment units, to the plethora of cars going to and fro and following traffic signals, this is an insane level of detail on both a macro and micro level. Watching it all at the speed of time lapse is an intoxicating effect.
The newest version of the world’s favorite city simulator will be released exclusively on the PC.
