Apple Launches New Child Safety Feature For Messages

Apple has announced that its next iOS 15 update will include new child safety features for those accounts set up as 'Families" on iCloud. More specifically, the feature looks to protect iPhone-using children from receiving inappropriate content via 'Messages.'
The feature will come in the form of new machine learning algorithms that, when switched on, will analyze image attachments in Messages and determine their safety before presenting them to a child. If it detects an inappropriate image or video, the algorithms will flag it and notify a parent. Parents will also be notified if a child sends a sensitive or inappropriate image themselves.
Considering the ease with which images and images can be sent and received when using a smartphone, this new feature will provide parents peace of mind that their child is protected from potentially harmful and/or unsolicited content.
