Walmart Announced an Electric Vehicle Charging Network Expansion
Michael Hemsworth — April 8, 2023 — Business
Walmart has announced an electric vehicle charging network expansion for its existing infrastructure that will help to build on the existing systems the retailer has in place and widen access. The initiative will see thousands of fast-charging electric vehicle stations added to the existing infrastructure and greatly improve American consumer access to the technology. The expansion is expected to be completed by 2030 and will enable consumers to power up their vehicle as they head inside to pick up some essentials.
Walmart Senior Vice President of Energy Transformation Vishal Kapadia commented on the electric vehicle charging network expansion saying, "With a store or club located within 10 miles of approximately 90% of Americans, we are uniquely positioned to deliver a convenient charging option that will help make EV ownership possible whether people live in rural, suburban or urban areas. Easy access to on-the-go charging is a game-changer for drivers who have been hesitant to purchase an EV.”
