Tesla Launches the New Charge on Solar Electric Feature
Tesla introduces its new feature dubbed Charge on Solar, which allows drivers to fill up their electric car's battery using excess solar energy. This was starting to be tested in May but has become more widely accessible in the US and Canadian markets.
There are some limitations to the new feature -- starting off, those that have a 2021 model or later will be able to use the service, along with those that have a Powerwall. The Powerwall is the company's battery system that holds all of the solar energy collected from solar panels. In order to enable the charge, users will have to initiate this through the Tesla app, select the feature and set it up.
