Canadian body paint artist Lorie Hamel takes her body art to a mythical, menacing place. From red and black face paint to colored contacts, and syringe nail attachments, these photographs are colorful and completely chaotic!
The backgrounds in these shots are mostly kept simple, so that the focus stays on the intense body art. Many of these photographs have a Gothic nature to them (one even includes a blood-filled tea pot as a prop), but a few of them are more primal. Some of the characters seen here are sporting cheetah-like spots, horns and feathers. A few of these models are even rocking vibrantly colored manes!
The overall feel of Hamel’s work is that of a Cirque du Soleil performance gone rogue, and at the end of the day there’s nothing wrong with that!
