Clubbing Celebs

Surely we can't be surprised that the celebs hanging out in the hottest night clubs are getting paid to be there!
Celebs like Paris Hilton and Britney show up for a few minutes to make an appearance, showing their mugs, and walking the carpet as part of a deal with club owners. In return for media buzz, they receive all sorts of free junk, or a bucket load of cash.
Apparently, three years ago, Hilton was paid $2,000 to party at Vegas hot spot PURE on her birthday. The night club made so much money off her, that they did it again recently.
According to The Toronto Star "This past weekend, PURE was looking to recreate its formula with the opening of LAX and Noir nightclubs at the Luxor hotel-casino, with a grand-opening party Friday night hosted by Britney Spears. The company would not say how much it was paying her or whether Spears would perform."
The party was successful - "The club sold a table next to Spears that night for $50,000, and some 3,000 revellers spent $250 on tickets.... PURE nightclub alone will generate about $53 million in revenue this year. It's not the first time she's rocked the night away at PURE... and there was always the classic Britney behaviour on New Year's this year when she put in an appearance she fell asleep around 1 a.m. and was helped out of the club.
So if you want your club to do well take a cue from Vegas- spend a whack of cash on a tabloid friendly celeb and you might just make a few dollars in return!
