Omar Vegara Taller and Renata de Miguel Design Casa Cantellano
Amy Duong — July 29, 2024 — Art & Design
Local design studio Omar Cegara Taller works with designer Renata de Miguel to create the Casa Cantellano, which is a brick home for residents to reside and age outside of Mexico City. It is resting on a corner lot located in Pachuca, Hidalgo, and is meant to honor the client's personality while providing a sense of comfort and mobility at home. There was the consideration of forming an accessible design throughout the space to meet residents' needs.
The design team explains the process to Dezeen, "By integrating accessible design elements and linking indoor and outdoor spaces through patios, the project aims to provide a dignified environment for aging." It continues, "By using local handmade materials for the facade and combining them with modern and transparent elements, the design achieves a harmonious combination of tradition and modernity."
