Carrefour Offers Contactless Payments with New Digital Cards

Supermarket Carrefour France offers its consumers a seamless way to pay in a contactless way with the launch of its customer loyalty program done with Apple Pay. Using Apple Wallet, customers in France are able to pay with their iPhones or Apple watches while utilizing any additional benefits of the Carrefour loyalty program.

Carrefour's executive director of group financial services and hypermarkets, Marie Cheval, states, “This integration with Apple Wallet and Apple Pay is unique in Europe and provides our customers with a new service designed to make their day-to-day lives easier." To activate the process, consumers must add their Carrefour loyalty card onto their Apple Wallet and it automatically collects loyalty points as their shop. There are plans set in place for consumers to use this benefit online as well as the Fall season approaches soon.
