The Caricature as Furniture Part 1 series is inspired by pop culture icons from singers and models to cartoon and movie characters. While a section of this collection inspired by 'The Simpsons' recently received a lot of attention, the project is also comprised of other equally quirky influences including big names such as Grace Jones. She happens to be the biggest muse for the designers and this particular project.
Designed by Thai firm 56thStudio, the Caricature as Furniture Part 1 series is kitschy, comical and bold. It explores minimal illustrations transformed into furniture. 56thStudio writes, "We decide to take a tongue-in-cheek look at investigating Pop and Hollywood Culture in tangible forms, in hoping that it would make the line that separates Graphic from Furniture become thinner."
