These are not just ordinary portraits of people posing with their pets. Look a little closer and you will see that the owners are wearing clothing that resembles the fur of their dogs. They're not just trying to dress like their dogs -- they are literally wearing the same thing as them. These owners have their clothes custom made out of the fur from their pets' bodies.
This is a series of photographs (part of an ongoing project) by photographer Erwan Fichou, of people posing with their dogs, wearing clothing made from the fur of their own pet dog/s.
The hair, once recovered after brushing, is carefully preserved until the necessary amount for knitting is collected. The hair is spun into balls of 50 grams by a specialist, before returning the fabric via mail to the owner. The hair is then used to construct the garment.
