Cambridge Audio, a company specializing in high-end audio equipment, has announced the launch of two new record player models, the Cambridge Audio Alva TT V2 and the Alva ST.
According to the company, both models come built with cutting-edge Bluetooth aptX HD audio codec, a unique technology that enables switchable hi-res wireless streaming. Other notable features of the two turntables include a built-in phono stage, vibration-absorbing EVA foam lining, and a high-output MC cartridge. In addition, the units boast a new tonearm design that features a detachable die-cast aluminum shell, allowing users to easily swap out parts.
However, the main distinguishing element between the two turntables is the tech that is used to power them. The Alva ST is a belt-driven model with a 645.3-gram die-cast aluminum platter. In contrast, the Alva TT V2 is a direct drive with a 2,200-gram platter made from Polyoxymethylene.
