Design firm Enter Projects designed the interior of LOT 1 Cafe & Restaurant and the firm created its own interpretation of a "coffee swirl" to be the main attraction of the cafe and restaurant.
The cafe design features a large wooden swirl that takes up a significant portion of the space, starting from the floor, going up to the ceiling and "swirling" in the direction of the bar. The coffee swirl replica was created using Australian timber, since the cafe is located in Sydney. Digital fabrication was used to design the curved wood elements. The swirling concept also allows for customers to see the original building materials -- including red brick and wood columns.
The retail store-turned-cafe draws the eyes of pedestrians on the sidewalk as the large windows, huge coffee swirl cafe design and its warm lighting welcome in customers.
