This butter coffee is based on a recipe that has been popular in many parts of Asia for centuries. Some may balk at the idea of consuming butter first thing in the morning, but a moderate amount of butter isn't bad for you and is actually beneficial if you have an otherwise healthy lifestyle.
Even from a flavor point of view, the concept of adding butter in coffee may sound ridiculous at first. But if you think about what butter is made of, the idea starts to become more acceptable. By bringing together coffee and butter and adding some sugar, you get a beverage whose taste is similar to whole milk coffee albeit with a frothier texture.
To make this rich, delicious and surprisingly nutritious beverage, mix 4 cups of hot, freshly brewed coffee and four heaped tablespoons of unsalted butter in a blender. Blend until you receive a gorgeous frothy texture -- your butter coffee is ready! This can also be done manually by stirring in the butter, but needless to say this technique won't offer you the same results as a blender.
