Burger King and Oatly Partnered to Replace Cow's Milk

— October 21, 2025 — Lifestyle
Burger King and Oatly have announced a partnership that will see the QSR brand swapping out milk in favor of alt milk at participating locations as part of a switch towards plant-based alternatives.

The partnership will see Burger King Austria locations utilizing Oatly Baristamatic oat milk in its specialty coffee drinks. The oat milk will be used in the automatic coffee machines for specialty coffee drinks and boasts an adapted oat base to reduce sedimentation to prevent blockages. The oat milk itself also boasts a higher fat content than the previous milk used to prioritize stability and a rich, creamy foam.

General Manager DACH & Poland at Oatly Roland Griesebner spoke on the Burger King and Oatly partnership saying, "With the Oatly Baristamatic Oat Drink, we are setting a new standard for plant-based drinks in the professional field in terms of functionality and taste. Together with Burger King Austria, we have recognized the great potential for sustainable changes in the industry and made a decision on the direction for the food transition in the out-of-home market. In this way, we are strengthening our pioneering role in the German-speaking market and are pursuing our goal of making the switch to oats as easy and attractive as possible.”
