A collaborative effort between Baker's Son and Scott Hove, 'Break Bread' is a temporary installation that combines natural elements of good and bad. This highly creative cake maze is an intricate venue that reflects a corrupt version of Candyland.
The artists covered a 9,000 square foot space with whimsical frosting, decadent cake and hyper-realistic watercolors. While the glamorous dessert display sounds appealing, artist Scott Hove states that in order to contrast the 'bougie' cake look, he infused this installation with inherently violent objects like switchblades and wolf jaws.
The magical art project is an experiential exploration of the artists' definitions of beauty. Break Bread opened its doors to the public on Valentine's Day 2016 and will remain in its Los Angeles location until mid-March.
