Android recently added an integrated Braille keyboard, which will now be available to any users with an Android device that can run Version 5 or latter of the Operating system. Previously users who required a Braille keyboard would have to use one developed by a third-party app. However, the new keyboard developed by android will streamline the process and it is optimized for the Android Operating system. The keyboard will also be compatible with Android TalkBack which can read words the users choose.
The keyboard was created in a collaborative effort with outside organizations that have developed braille software in the past. Overall it is clear that Android is addressing accessibility concerns and taking a proactive approach through integrating the keyboard.
