South Korean design firm Atelier Itch designed the Bomun House and it is defined by its shining facade made from a steel material. It is nestled on a tight residential street and stands out against the red brick house in the neighborhood. The windowless facade is made with the corrugated lightweight steel which also adds some texture to the space as well.
The co-founder of the studio, Yourim Lee speaks on the design more: "Given the poor conditions for natural light and views, our main priority was to refine the building's exterior into a clean yet striking presence. Since the lower floors would be rented out, it was also important for the building to stand out in a positive way. Within the project's limited budget, this affordable material was effectively utilized to achieve a dramatic transformation."
