The BoGo Light is a one-for-one distribution of handheld lighting that works to provide sustainable and non-life-threatening light to families in developing countries. For every BoGo Light that is purchased in a developed country, a counterpart will be given to an organization within a developing country for distribution. BoGo stands for "Buy One, Give One."
The lights themselves stay in line with technological advancement as they are solar-powered and will benefit living anywhere. Light is an important and almost always overlooked part of the developed individuals life. Only a few years ago did North America experience a blackout for a mere three days in which families found it extremely difficult to function efficiently. Now imagine families that have to live in blackouts during their entire lives. Battery-powered lights and fire-lit lamps prove hazardous for the environment and can lead to massive fires that destroy the meekly standing homes of people living in developing countries.
Less-industrialized countries will be able to save energy and money using the BoGo light as it merely uses power generated from the sun to function. This is an extremely heartfelt social effort taken on by the BoGo Light and I encourage everyone to look into this movement.
