"What is the Blooming Spark I?" you might ask, when you first catch a glimpse of it. It looks far more exciting than your average light fixture. It is a pendent lamp and functions much like its more conventional counterparts, yet it offers something quite different to what they do.
This Hsiao-Chi Tsai and Kimiya Yoshikawa collaboration gets strung up from the ceiling but installed through two separate circuits. Two pairs of UV incandescent bulbs are wired in and controlled by different switches so that the entire fixture need not be lit up at once.
But what's most notable about the Blooming Spark I light is its appearance, as you can see. It radiates intense neon colors like a radioactive tropical flower through various shapes of synthetic and organic materials that face every which way.
