Some people might argue that stark modernist furnishings wouldn't suit the adaptable and comfortable family home. Regardless, the Blooey Hobbel was influenced by the manufacturing and the industrial aesthetic of early to mid-20th century movables, producing a successful swaying seat for kids.
Its hard metallic form means that it probably isn't ideal for very young children, granted. Its frills-free and streamlined structure would be much more appealing to older kids anyway. Bent from tubular steel, the simplified and skeletal shape was a concept that came out of inspiration from objects like the sophisticated Marcel Breuer Club Chair.
To make the Blooey Hobbel a little more youngster-friendly, designers Remko Verhaagen and Stephen Boom applied a range of bright colors to the oscillating playthings.
