DE-YAN and Jimmy Butler Open Up the First Bigface Store

NBA star Jimmy Butler works together with design agency DE-YAN to create the first physical Bigface store. The inspiration behind the coffee shop nods to the sci-fi film 2001: A Space Odyssey. It is in the Miami Design District and it opened just before the annual Art Basel fair in the city.
Butler devised Bigface as a specialty coffee imprint a few years ago and the brand has grown since 2020. He is now creating a physical space where fans can enjoy the coffee. The design team shares the design notion behind the space with Dezeen, noting "The design concept blurs the lines between art and space, with a dynamic layout that encourages exploration and interaction. Custom-built seating areas create a sense of intimacy, while open spaces allow for a communal experience."
