GEO, who is an artist based in New York, otherwise known as Giovanni Casas has created the Big Birk sculpture. It is reflective of the iconic Hermès bag and it has been blown out of proportion in the form of an art sculpture found in West Palm Beach, Florida.
The oversized artwork is finished in a canary yellow hue and notably, it stands about two storeys tall and weighs approximately 1,000 pounds. In order to transport the Big Birk, the team working with GEO followed very specific regulations when dealing with large cargo, similar to mobile homes and other equipment. The sculpture is made from wood, metal, and styrofoam, which were broken down into three sections to move from New York to Florida.
