A Dutch company by the name of We Are Pi has gone ahead and unveiled a one-of-a-kind fixie bicycle that is shaped like the Greek symbol for Pi, which explains the contraption's appropriate name of PiCycle.
In addition to being a homage to the mathematical symbol, the PiCycle is a fully rideable fixie bicycle that was developed by taking illustrator Yau Hoong's sketches and convering them into scale models which were tweaked and upgraded to make a rideable bicycle complete with a carbon fiber frame. Staying true to its inspiration, the PiCycle was unveiled to the public on March 14, known he world over as Pi Day.
While there are no plans to replicate this fixie bicycle or make it available commercially, the PiCycle is still a fine example of artistically inspired functional bicycle design.
