Each of these meticulously chiseled Ben Godi statues is comparable to the marble works of grand masters centuries ago, only Godi’s getting the same results using slabs of wood. That’s right, the trained traditional sculptor is able to instill a pristine look normally associated with alabaster sculptures of Greek gods into mesmerizing wooden carvings. Godi simply possesses unparallel craftsmanship skills, chiseling creations that will no doubt be admired decades from now.
In addition to waxed maple wood, Ben Godi also uses pink nail polish to produce and accentuate pieces. As he frequently sculpts women with vintage appeal, the pink nail polish complements his work well.
Among my favorite Ben Godi statues are the ones depicting female magicians pulling hot pink rabbits out of their hats. The fact that Godi produced an army of identical sculptures adds to his personal impressiveness.
