'Beauty and the BEAT!' features the Disney princess Belle living a life of ghetto-fabulousness in the 'hood' -- a far cry from the high-end lifestyle she lead in the original fairytale version of the story.
The YouTube parody sees some of the Internet's most well-known video stars parading around and acting out the opening sequence from Beauty and the Beast. Cameos by the Bed Intruder Antoine Dodson, GloZell, Miles Jai and DeStorm, along with a hand full of American Idol alumni, make the song as ridiculous and controversial as one would expect from a remake featuring that cast of characters.
While some may view the video as a means to perpetuate stereotypes about those living in suburban American ghettos, the satirical video does take a few clever jabs at material hidden below the surface in the Disney classic.
