The 'Basket Collection' from GUBI and Joe Colombo is Arriving Soon
Kanesa D — June 28, 2022 — Art & Design
GUBI and Italian designer Joe Colombo are releasing a ‘Basket Collection’ made of rattan that fits the modernist furniture aesthetic. The collection features a sofa that comes in a two-seater or three-seater option alongside a lounge chair. The furniture offerings use a woven rattan base that references techniques used in rattan basketry, as well as a supersoft foam cushion on the top. The cushions cover the seat and back of the chair for extra back support on all models.
Joe Colombo is not known for using rattan as his material of choice, so GUBI feels extraordinarily proud that they are able to showcase the designer’s growth and promise. The ‘Basket Collection’ furniture capsule will arrive on Gubi’s website later in the summer.
