BARKER Bags & Accessories aims to make customization affordable with the Kickstarter launch of its Yuba and Lincoln Backpack. With removable handles, pockets and straps, users gain the ability to personalize their backpacks colors as well as add to its capacity.
BARKER Bags was founded by Alexander Barker, a Salt Lake City-based product designer. His goal was to make a backpack that could fulfill the diverse needs of students. After thorough research and discovery, the goal soon became to make a pack that could be customized easily, at an affordable price. This was achieved in two packs: the Yuba and the Lincoln Backpack. Those packs are now live on Kickstarter available for pre-order.
The Lincoln backpack is a double compartment pack designed for a diverse student life. With a custom modular system, the backpack lets users add additional storage through removable pockets. The Lincoln backpack also comes with removable top handles, side handles, and front straps that allow the bag to be customized through color to its users aesthetic. The Lincoln backpack is made of Treeline Green water-resistant canvas, a Cordura nylon base, YKK zippers and custom hardware. Internally each compartment is lined with nylon. The Lincoln comes with a padded computer pocket that fits a 15” computer, a tablet pocket and multiple pockets for organization.
The Yuba backpack comes in Stone Grey and is designed for those who carry less. Perfect for commuting to and from school, or a day out exploring the city. Similar to the Lincoln, the Yuba backpack comes with removable handles and straps for color customization. It also offers the option of extending its carry with two removable front pockets. The Yuba comes with a 13” padded computer pocket and multiple pockets for organization. It is made of water-resistant canvas and Cordura nylon.
