Dominque Crenn has finally opened her much anticipated homage to classic French cooking, Bar Crenn. The San Francisco-based restaurant stands as a testament to French cooking and features dishes inspired, or borrowed, from culinary giants like Alain Ducasse and Guy Savoy. The menu features classic dishes like pommes souffles, tarte flambee and omelette a l’oursin, but will also Dominque Crenn's modern takes on French cooking.
The decor and design of Bar Crenn was inspired by 1920's Parasian salons and was done to honor the chef's mother and father. The space was designed to be the visual representation of the intersection of fashion, literature and food, and also seemed fitting as it worked with the menu's celebration of French cuisine.
