The Backflip Fitness Chaise Encourages a Stretch

When you come home from work after a long day, you may be tempted to sprawl out and relax, but the Backflip Fitness Chaise can perhaps coax you into having a much-needed stretch.
The undulating recliner is the perfect place to kick back, but a simple overturn reveals a sinuous surface that won't allow you to simply stay put. Designer KK Wong undertook this project for his university thesis, and planned to develop a unique object that catered to a range of different physical exercises. Between repetitions of crunches, spine-twisting stretches and extended back arches, this piece of fluid furniture won't let you become a couch potato.
While simply watching TV, the Backflip Fitness Chaise encourages constant nurturing movement.
Implications - With so many jobs and forms of entertainment that involve staying seated for prolonged periods, designers are smart to come up with solutions for keeping people comfortable and active, should they so choose, even while relaxing.
