Backbone Labs, a company most known for its handheld gaming accessories such as the 'Backbone One' lineup of controllers, has recently made some official adjustments to its 'Backbone One V2' released last year. The controller, available in both an all-white 'PlayStation Edition' and an all-black regular 'Xbox'-inspired edition, this controller is officially recognized by all mobile applications with official controller support, such as 'Call of Duty: Mobile,' 'Diablo Immortal,' or even game-streaming services such as PlayStation Remote Play, Steam Link, and GeForce NOW.
While the controller is available with a lightning connector dubbed the 'For iPhone' edition, the USB-C version was previously regarded as the option specifically for Android users. However, with the alteration of the charging port on the iPhone 15 lineup now being USB-C rather than Lightning, the controller is now dubbed the 'For iPhone (USB-C)' edition, in an effort to attract more users and more properly represent the controllers for iPhone 15 users.
Aside from this change, the V2 features increased mobile phone size compatibility, improvements to some buttons, and various manufacturing improvements, all without increasing the cost of the device.
With these changes, the Backbone One V2 is solidified as one of the best gaming controllers on the mobile platform, in large part due to its official partnerships with Xbox and PlayStation.
