Every piece of furniture is an opportunity for the designer to be creative and for the buyer to infuse his home with aesthetic intrigue. The April Fools Stools do, of course, maintain functionality, but their appearances certainly deviate from the norm.
The whimsical Why Not Bespoke seating objects are playful hybrids of traditional furniture making techniques, contemporary tastes and simply idiosyncratic ideas. Into the circular seats, the studio plugged three legs of two different sorts: one references more timber traditional turning methods and the other two are bulky, abstract and coated in a bold color.
The delightfully turned leg of the April Fools Stools is complemented in another model. A slot in the round perch is left open for the insertion of a carved wooden post that functions as a lighthearted and peculiar handle.
