The Anchor Cohost Feature Connects Users for New Projects

The DIY podcasting app Anchor has seen some major revisions in the last year, but the new Anchor Cohost feature introduces a new social aspect to the podcasting app. As the name suggests, Cohost lets Anchor users easily match with other users who want to talk about similar topics. Ideally, this would help facilitate group discussions and may even lead to a joint venture between two users.
To match with other users through the Anchor Cohost feature, users will simply need to pick from a topic on the Anchor home screen. Custom topics can also be added and once the app finds the user a match, it puts both in a shared call. The call will give the users 30 seconds to chat before it automatically starts recording—each recording is capped at 15 minutes. If both users hit it off, the app will allow users to record again with the "record with friends" feature, which removes the 15-minute time limit. Users can rate their matches on the Anchor Cohost feature using a thumbs-up or down system to help curb abuse.
